Building foundational skills for independence and critical thinking.

Program Name: Toddler Community (19 months – 3 years)

Flower Mound Montessori has thoughtfully crafted a curriculum for toddlers that focuses on essential skills to support your child’s natural learning journey. Children in this age group exhibit a natural curiosity and develop a love for learning spontaneously. Our objective for the toddler group is to address each child’s unique needs. We prioritize self-sufficiency and a consistent routine, which helps nurture independence, confidence, and a sense of responsibility in your child. Carefully planned activities are introduced to promote developments in fine motor skills, order, balance, concentration, hand-eye coordination, and autonomy through hands-on activities.

“The hand is the instrument of intelligence. The child needs to manipulate objects and to gain experience by touching and handling.”

Dr. Maria Montessori

Our curriculum emphasizes exploration and experimentation, supporting children in enhancing their focus and refining their sensory perception skills. Developing language abilities is a key component of our program, exposing children to a variety of language materials, including books, picture cards, and puzzles. Educators foster listening skills by reading aloud and sharing stories, thereby encouraging a passion for language in your child.

Now is the ideal time to begin toilet training; 18 months is the most suitable age to initiate this process. We aid your child in potty training as our teachers observe signs of readiness and motivate your child to use the potty at appropriate times.
